This is something I have seen a lot on bid directories, and that is where the owner bids his own sites, sometimes higher than any true bid from a webmaster. And would you want to bid on a bid directory where you are competing with the owner?

Bid directories are where you bid your site to the position you want your site listed on the main page and the category page. The higher your bid, the higher your site is listed. Here is a nice list of bid directories for your consideration to bid your site on.
