How long have you been running your directory on the same host? Is it time to change your host and move to a reseller hosting? I submit my sites to a lot of directories and very often I find the ‘account suspended’ notices on many directories. I believe these guys should go for a better hosting provider instead. Move to a bigger package like reseller hosting that allows you to host as many sites as you want while allowing you to make some money on the way.

I liked HostNexus’s offer and have been thinking of moving my sites there. They are one of the very few hosting providers who provide Coldfusion Hosting at such cheap prices. Another thing that I want to try out is Ruby on Rails hosting.

What was the last time you thought of changing your hosting company? Change it now because if your hosting is not fast your SEO score may suffer (yes, google is supposed to consider site’s speed as one of the ranking factors soon).

Wouldn’t changing host affect SEO and ranking? I think that might be the biggest fear for webmasters and directory owners not changing hosts so quickly. I have also read about Google giving some weight to page loading speed, so do have a point. But how to choose between the trade-off?

Yaa that’s true that google considers site speed as one of its factor but again i have heard from bunch of webmaster’s that changing hosts effected their G-rankings.I think that’s the reason why some webmaster fear to change the host.

@Adam Yes, moving host shouldn’t have any long term effects on your SEO/rankings. If you’re in any doubt, head on over to the Google webmasters forum as there’s plenty of info there.

Moving to a bigger package seems a sensible idea. Besides the SEO score, what are the reasons that one should think of while changing the hosting company?

  5. Samuel from buy domain names cheap Says:

No doubt about the fact that moving to a bigger package will allow me to host several sites as per my desire and also allow me to make money. But I’m not thinking of moving to another hosting company. I’m quite satisfied with mine.
