Despite what some webmasters say, bid directories are still one excellent place to have your site listed on. Bid directories allow you to quickly have your site listed upon paying your bid, with no waiting for up to months like regular directories. Bid directories can also give your site better position and exposure by having your site on the main page if your bid is high enough to be one of the top ten bidded sites, and your site will stay on the main page as long as there are no other bids higher than your bid. Bid high enough and your site could be on the main page for quite some time. Of course, you do have the option to bid more if your site drops down in the order on the main page or drops off the main page.
Bid directories also allow you to bid high enough in your category. So not only on the main page, but on the category page, your site can be bid up high enough to always be number one site shown. So unlike regular directories where sites submitted after you can be placed on top of your site, burying your site real fast.
