A directory blog is a very useful tool for many people looking to make their blogs known. In a nutshell, a directory blog is basically a place where you can place a link to your blog, and then have other people find it in one way or another.

The reason why a directory blog is such a good tool is that many people often use them to find blogs that they may be interested in. this means that if you are looking to make your blog known to more people, it’s a good idea to submit your site to as many of these as possible, as this will increase your chances of getting discovered.

The process of submitting blogs to such directory blogs is a very easy one. The first step would be to find a directory blog where you can submit your site to. This is a simple thing to do, but you should avoid the temptation to submit your site to any site at all. Ideally, you should submit your site to a directory that has a large following, that is that which has a large number of users. This is the best way to ensure that your blog is discovered by as many people as possible.

There are many ways of finding such a blog directory, but one of the most commonly used is to use Google to find one. You can do this by searching for the most popular blog directories, and then submitting your blogs to these. This will ensure that you submit your blog to the most popular sites first, and then from then on you can submit it to other less popular directories. If you do this well, you are likely to find that your site will enjoy much more traffic, as a large number of people use such directories to find useful blogs.

Online back up is no doubt the smartest way to protect your data. Basically this means keeping a copy of your files on an online server so that if you should accidentally delete them from your PC you would still have a copy waiting for you online. Because they aren’t kept on a physical computer, but instead ‘on the cloud’ this means that your files will be safe whether there’s a house fire or a virus on your own system – and meanwhile it means you will be able to access them from anywhere with an internet connection.

But which is the best service to use? Three of the giants of online backup are ‘MyPC Backup.Com’, ‘Carbonite’ and ‘Mozy’. Some things to consider are the storage space provided, the price and other features such as money back guarantee. The strongest contender here across all three categories is MyPC Backup, with unlimited storage, a 14 day free trial, anytime money back guarantee and all for only $4.95.

With Carbonite you get all the same perks, but with only a thirty day guarantee – but unlike MyPC Backup it’s also available on Apple computers which means that more people can enjoy it. Finally with Mozy you get only 50g gigabytes of storage and for an extra $1.14. But then everyone has their preferences, and if you like the interface more you might be willing to make that sacrifice.

You can also use this online backup comparison post if you want to get into details.

“DoFollow” is a term related to the behavior of websites with regards to search engines. When it comes to blogs specifically, it means that they simply allow search engines to index all the links posted on the blog, therefore making the blog very suitable for marketing purposes as well as establishing a large base of readers (as people would be much more inclined to post comments and other content on your blogs when they know they’ll benefit from this themselves, in their search engine rankings).

What happens with DoFollow blogs in a search engine though? If you’re a blogger and would like to get a little bit of extra exposure by allowing this setting on your own blogs, you may be worried about the rumors going around that it can negatively impact your blogs, dragging down their search engine rankings and making them less suitable for your own purposes. The truth is, this is false – the situation where DoFollow blogs are treated negatively by search engines is a very rare one, and is typically related to “link farms” – blogs with nothing but links posted all over them.

On the other hand, if you’re running a regular, generic blog with a moderate amount of traffic and you have a few people commenting, then you shouldn’t really worry about any possible downsides to enabling DoFollow – actually, it will help you a lot when it comes to bringing new traffic to the blog, because you’ll see more people commenting and leaving their links, as well as spreading the word. All you need to do to maintain your good image for search engines, is to simply keep posting content actively and make sure that it’s fresh and unique – as well as relevant to the blog’s general topic, of course.

While it’s true that the field of Internet marketing is highly complicated and it keeps evolving by the day – with more and more new things coming up all the time, which you must stay aware of – there are still some things which are easy enough to learn, and knowing them is a must if you want to make sure that you’re running your campaigns properly, and that you’re getting everything you should from them. One of the most basic things you need to learn is how DoFollow blogs and search engines relate to each other, and why it’s important to run your campaigns on such blogs entirely.

The issue is simple enough to explain, actually – the opposite of a DoFollow blog, a NoFollow one, is configured in such a way that it prevents search engines from processing links posted on it. While this may not matter to you for a regular blog, when it comes to advertising content, it’s crucial that you’re only using DoFollow blogs for your efforts and don’t post your content on any NoFollow ones.

Sure, it’s true that you may still get some incoming traffic from people actually clicking the links on the blogs – but it would be nothing compared to the large influx of traffic you can generate by posting the same content on a small number of DoFollow blogs, so search engines can index their links properly and improve your PageRank (and the equivalent ranking numbers for other search engines). Of course, finding DoFollow blogs which are actually willing to have your content posted on them can be tricky – but any good Internet entrepreneur should have at least a few aces up their sleeve in order to quickly scout the Web for the latest fresh blogs with DoFollow settings.

People love blogs – they love reading them, they love posting content on their own blogs, and they certainly love commenting on other blogs. And anyone who’s been running a blog that’s at least moderately successful, can easily tell you that the key component in ensuring the success of the blog is to build a solid, constantly growing base of readers who come back every day to catch up on what you’ve posted, and to contribute something of their own – a thumbs-up comment, some criticism and tips on how you can improve, or simply chatting up the other commenters.

You need to give those readers a clear incentive to contribute in this manner though – and the best way to do that is by using DoFollow blogs. After all, when somebody comments on your blog and leave a link to their own, they’re doing this with the idea that they’re going to potentially get a few new readers for themselves, thanks to that link. And if your blog is a NoFollow one, this incentive is automatically gone – and there’s hardly anything you can use in its place.

You may have your reservations about running DoFollow blogs – there are some rumors going around the Internet that search engines tend to process content on such blogs in a different manner, and some even claim that your rankings in those engines would suffer just because you’re running your blogs in DoFollow mode. This is not entirely true though – it’s not even close to the truth, actually. In reality, the only potential problems you may encounter from running DoFollow blogs are related to constant and ongoing spamming of various links to an extent where they become more than the actual useful content. However, rest assured that unless you reach that extreme point, you’ll be safe in your rankings by leaving your blog to run in DoFollow mode.

In any marketing campaign, knowing your full range of options and utilizing your available resources properly are key aspects of coming out successful and remaining on top – and when it comes to Internet marketing, these rules are even more valid. With such a diverse variety of opportunities for investing your efforts and money to boost your online campaign, you must really make sure to get the most for what you’re putting down.

Advertising on blogs is a great way to give your search engine rankings a solid boost and improve your standing on the Web market. However, not everyone who participates in this type of marketing seems to be fully aware of the various options open to them with those blogs, and what they should be concentrating on. When you hear about “DoFollow blogs” you should know exactly what this refers to – and how it benefits you in your campaigns.

The idea is pretty simple – many blogs nowadays come with a certain setting set by default, the so-called “NoFollow” – which prevents search engines from crawling through links that have this “tag” on them. This is obviously bad for you as someone who may potentially want to utilize these blogs for their advertising campaigns, as no links you’ve posted on those blogs would actually end up contributing to your campaign.

This is why it’s crucial to make sure that you’re using DoFollow blogs in your marketing campaigns – this will ensure that every link you’ve submitted through content in these blogs would contribute to your search engine rankings and would help you get the figures you’re looking for in your campaign. Of course, finding these blogs by yourself can be a time-consuming task – which is why you should take up the services of the many directories that aggregate such blogs.

Ah, “DoFollow” – an interesting term which has stirred up a good deal of controversy in popular blogging circles in recent times. There are as many opinions on the matter as there are bloggers, probably – and there’s a lot to consider in order to adequately gauge the effects of this setting on your own blogs. It’s one thing to look at the matter from an advertiser’s point of view – where DoFollow blogs and search engine rankings go hand in hand – but it’s a different story when you’re the one running the blogs.

What should you do with your own blog? Should you run it like many are suggesting, leaving links with a “NoFollow” tag by default, or should you trust the people contributing content on that blog and have it work in DoFollow mode?

It’s a common misconception that if you have a DoFollow blog, search engine rankings are going to suffer – that’s simply not true in the generalized sense it’s being presented. To put it simply, yes, there is a potential problem with running your blog in this way – after a certain threshold of links vs. actual content ratio, search engines are going to “lose trust” in your blog and drop your rankings.

But you probably don’t realize how much spam you have to endure before you reach that point – your blog must literally come to a point where it’s nothing but links, in order for Google and the other popular search engines to start considering it negatively. On the other hand, a regular blog that’s DoFollow and posts links frequently – but also hosts plenty of useful content at the same time – is going to perform just fine. Actually, all those links would slowly but surely establish a strong ring of boosted PageRanks, perfect for your purposes!

Do you know the difference between a DoFollow blog and its opposite, a NoFollow one? Every online marketer worth his/her salt should be crystal clear with those terms as they’re very important in those operations – so if you’re still not fully aware what these stand for, take a few minutes to familiarize yourself and you may quickly realize that you’ve been investing your efforts (and possibly even money) into wrong campaigns.

A DoFollow blog simply refers to a blog which doesn’t use the so-called “NoFollow” tag in its links – this tag is used to control the behavior of search engine bots (which in turn are responsible for collecting the information used by search engines), and simply tells them to not follow links that have it. In the end, this means that any links submitted to this blog will not be processed by search engines, and will not contribute to the corresponding websites’ rankings at all.

Blog administrators may use NoFollow intentionally or unwittingly – some popular blogging systems like WordPress are configured to work on a NoFollow basis by default, mostly as security measures. On the other hand, some blog owners simply don’t enjoy the idea of sharing their traffic so freely. In any case, you must be well aware of the settings on blogs you’re using – failure to do so may result in a large amount of effort being wasted as you’re contributing your links to blogs which don’t help you at all.

The best course of action if you’re not sure how to find these blogs, is to rely on blog directories which would typically feature settings allowing you to differentiate between DoFollow blogs and NoFollow ones in their listings, so you’ll just have to filter the results accordingly and sift through the ones that remain on your screen.

It’s common to experiment with what works and what doesn’t when you’re involved in online marketing; with such a flexible field, it’s hard to say concretely what you should be doing and what you should avoid. And this is especially true when you consider your numerous options for services you could use – since pretty much anyone can offer a service of their own online, it’s very important to know who you can trust – something which can be made rather difficult when you don’t know the important factors to look at.

On the subject of blogs, there’s a lot you could do wrong when picking out the ones to use in your campaign – and this can sometimes cost you not only money but time as well; if you want to tread safely and ensure that you’re making the right choice, you should read up on a few directory reviews – read up what other marketers have to say about different blog directories on the market, and this should give you a pretty clear picture of which blogs and directories are worth using.

Sometimes you may even be sure that you’re making the right move, yet you’re actually about to make a mistake – this isn’t that uncommon among newcomers to the field of online marketing, and it’s something that can cost you quite a bit. Blogs come and go, and directories are out there looking through them and organizing them in an easily accessible manner – and if you want to know exactly which ones to aim for in your campaign, there’s nothing better than just picking up some popular directory reviews and taking the time to familiarize yourself with them. Remember, it may cost you a bit of an extra effort to get this organized in the beginning, but it will be well worth it later on when you can easily pick up new blogs for your campaign!

Organizing a marketing campaign on the Internet is a huge hassle in the beginning – and the larger your scale, the more work there is to be done in those first few moments. And even if you’ve got all the time in the world to invest in those ventures, it’s still never a bad idea to optimize it as much as possible, because after all, time equals money – so the more of it that you’re able to dedicate to developing your campaigns, the greater earnings you’ll be securing for yourself in the long run!

One of the crucial aspects of setting up those campaigns is the process of picking out the dozens of blogs across which you’ll be spreading your campaign; this is something you should never rush, because having your links spread among a large number of reputed blogs is great – but one “bad apple” can easily drag down your whole operation when it gets the boot from search engines.

This is why it’s very important to read directory reviews – not just in the beginning, while you’re still setting up your blog, either! You must make this a habit for yourself, anytime you find yourself with a few minutes to spare just sit down and start going through blog directory reviews to see what’s new on the horizon. Blogs come and go, and in this fast-paced and aggressive market it’s very important to stay ahead of everyone and snatch the good ones as soon as they’re available.

Of course, don’t trust directory reviews entirely – though they’re a good source of generalized information, you should still do some individual research of your own for every blog you’re considering which looks especially attractive. But if you do it right, you’ll only need a minimal amount of research to make sure you’re on top of the situation at any given moment!
