Directories of old are dying. Good to see variations of directories like this one concentrating on being a real yellow pages online complete with Google Maps.

Google maps or mapquest integration is mandatory for any directory vying for ‘business directory’ tag. I checked their category selection mechanism too. Quite good actually.

Ideally have an idea of 4 or 5 main keywords, call them your Primary Keywords and then try to position secondary keywords with the Primary Word most closely associated with it.

There are tools you can use for keyword research; Wordtracker and The Google AdWords Keyword Tool to name but two. I personally use a combination of the Google Keyword Tool, Google LSI and T.J. Common Sense.

I think directories are still an important place to your site online. While Google does not give them as much credibility as they once did, it is a good way to promote your business and build up your link count.

Directories are the stepping stone in the link building process and I am thankful to all those reviewers who does a neat job in assessing the pros and cons. This helps webmasters like me to take decision quickly. Getting a link from a bad directory really harms the website and also there is no point in submitting to directories who never accept our listing. Thanks for your review on Ibizdir. The IbizDir looks like a very professional site – I like the content feeds on the home page, though I doubt they are making any money from adsense though.
