Looking for a good general directory that has good page rank? One that is nice looking, no advertising at all? A general directory with good traffic so that your link will have the needed exposure? Then go and check out the Astral Directory.

The Astral Directory is very simply laid out, with great category tree containing very relevant sub-categories. And you will notice that the navigation is very simple. And this directory has something few directories have, and I think it is great the way it is done. And that is most of the category pages and some of the sub-category pages have a well written article relevant to the category or the sub-category. I hope the directory owner will flesh out more of the pages using this article technique. The articles on the directory now will give visitors some information about the category that will be read before heading off to the included links.

As stated, this directory has no advertising, either text links or banners, no adsense or other ppc ads, making for a nice clean look and a look that will have visitors going to the categories instead of perusing the ads and possibly even leaving the directory. This is an idea I believe that all directory owners should carefully consider doing, either with a new directory to be launched or a present directory. Something that yours truly should really do to his directories!

The Astral Directory is a paid directory with one free option. The free option seems to be pretty easy as the description must be unique enough to be accepted. Using the paid options, the editors of this directory will write a unique description. Another option I have not seen yet on another directory.
